Remind Them Why You're Here

Pittsfield Artscape, partnered with Berkshire Money Management, brought more public art to the downtown with the Pittsfield Paintbox Program. The Pittsfield Paintbox Program brings intriguing and vibrant paintings to the streets' utility boxes (load centers).  Artists transformed the typically drab electrical boxes, increasing the vibrancy of the artful streetscape. It celebrates local artists, enlivens the streetscape, and discourages vandalism of utility boxes throughout the downtown.

“Remind Them Why You’re Here,” is of a young hero ready to take on the world and whatever challenges may come her way. The masked and caped vigilante serves as a reminder that this city needs heroes and is the place where she truly belongs. And in a world that can often feel mundane and regular, she knows that she can dream of change for a brighter and more colorful future.

This paintbox is located at Palace Park on North Street in Pittsfield, MA.

Pittsfield Artscape is a volunteer-led committee which sponsors, plans, and oversees the annual juried exhibition of public art in the City of Pittsfield. The mission of Artscape is to enhance the overall character of the city's downtown and attract visitors by installing and promoting works of art in various accessible outdoor locations throughout Pittsfield's Upstreet Cultural District.
